Yeah, we know we’ve become known for the hazy IPA’s, but our founder’s first love was always the west coast IPA. This week we dive into the old homebrew recipe book for an amazing taproom only west coast IPA with some New England IPA influence. Rainy Day
West Coast IPA
6.5% ABV
Citra, Galaxy, Idaho 7 and CTZ hops
We infused a bit of the hazy with the west coast IPA into this beer. It’s definitely bitter at nearly 70 IBU’s, but the aroma and flavor profile is full of those hazy tropical notes. In the aroma, we get a tad of dankness with stone fruit and strong overly ripe pineapple, like the kind where you can smell it and almost taste it before you even cut into it. On the tongue it’s all about resin with strong orange pith (maybe tangerine) with a dry, dank, citrus and resinous finish.
